The Latest Update on Vertical Gardening

– Posted in: Miscellaneous

verticalgarden1-paris-quai-granly-museum-resizedAs discussed in an earlier GGW post on Vertical Gardening, Patrick Blanc is the designer extraordinaire of this art form. An article published in The Guardian and written by Stuart Jeffries, So How Do You Water Them ? The Rise and Rise of Vertical Gardens offers more information on a subject that I can never get enough of. It’s definitely worth a read!

How beautiful. My guess is that Toronto winters would stymie this practice outdoors, though. The drying winds, if nothing else. Indoors… bring it on!

Helen-
You may be right about Toronto resisting outdoor vertical gardens, although Patrick Blanc has designed dozens and dozens of them throughout the world. And there are now indoor vertical gardens. Even some mail order sources are offering systems for smaller ones. It’s all very cool and exciting! Fran
