What a sweetie! He seems to know the inventory very well. Even knows where the next flat needs to go!

I know, I know!!! He’s my neighbor, so I have the inside “scoop”. He is a wonderdog who makes a great team with the lovely Mistress Carmen.

Looks like the dog is checking for lizards.

What a wonderful helper! Looks like he was making his daily patrol to make sure that all is well and proper. Our hounds are a joy & blessing, aren’t they!!
Thanks for sharing Pete and his story!!

I’ve seen these sorts of wanderings before. I think Pete is making a mental checklist of plants that are ‘needed’ to make his collection/display complete. This list will be fantastic, but unaffordable. Conversation regarding this list will last many days/weeks, until you give in and buy them or he gets the hint!

A lovely video 🙂

Pete is beautiful and I have never seen such a tidy greenhouse. Could Pete be looking for water to drink? If not, he is definitely herding the plants…;-)

What a nice post!

Pete is fastidious in making an inventory, making sure all is well. He is very careful as he goes. He obviously comes with great herding genes. Please give Pete a hug from the Ladies as well as Max our Siamese who checks our inventory.

I think Pete is busy protecting all the succulents from all the lizards at Oasis!

What a cute pup Pete is! He is looking for places that need succulents added. Must keep those shelves full! LOL But then he might be looking for baby kittens or were they bunny’s?

Looks like he looking for a “tree”. Tough for a dog with all those succulents around.

Checking inventory, obviously.

Is he the snail and slug patrol? I have never seen snail damage or debris at at the nursery.
I’ll hire him for my garden.

If Pete is like other Aussies I’ve met, he’s looking for a clue as to what pocket the biscuit is hiding.

I thought he might be checking for baby birds that needed to be herded back to their mother.

It looks like Pete wants to pee. Just kidding, it is obviously enjoying that succulent beauties and protecting it from possible threat. I wish I can have a pet like Pete.

I was at the nursery that day to do a video of something else, but Pete’s behavior caught my eye, so I turned the camera on him. That led to my asking Carmen to have him accompany her when she brought in a flat of plants to fill a gap.

It all came together serendipitously, and this is one of my top favorite videos of the 40+ I’ve done to date, because I was able to manipulate the footage to imply that Pete was hard at work as Carmen’s helper.

Most of my other videos have to do with succulents and how to use them in design projects. If you’d like to view them, go to YouTube and do a search on “Debra Lee Baldwin.”

Pete’s looking for lizards. His breed is used for herding, but when Pete’s at the nursery, he’s really into hunting. He enjoys the thrill of the chase.

Hi Pete! Are you checking if everything in the garden is alright? 🙂

Dayna July 17, 2013, 11:28 am

Pete does an excellent job at checking over all the inventory! Love this!
