The Charleston Garden Festival Announces 2007 Featured SpeakerGreen Roof Expert, Ed Snodgrass, Leads Lecture Series
The Charleston Garden Festival is proud to welcome nurseryman, author and speaker Ed Snodgrass to our first “green” garden festival. His lecture, “Planting our Future: Green Roofs,” will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, October 19th at Middleton Place. Each $38 ticket will include a boxed lunch to be enjoyed after the presentation.
A recent article in the American Society of Landscape Architects news digest said this about Ed Snodgrass, “Ask any landscape architect, architect, horticulturist, academic, or anyone involved in the fledgling world of green roof design and installation who the go-to person for green roof plants is, and invariably Ed Snodgrass, the owner of Emory Knoll Farms will come up.”
Credited with starting the first green roof nursery in the United States, Ed has collaborated with colleges, universities, engineering and architectural firms throughout the United States to develop ecologically-sound and beautiful green roof installations.Steadfastly committed to sustainability, he is co-author with his wife Lucie, of Green Roof Plants, A Resource and Planting Guide, published by Timber Press.Recently Ed and Lucie’s Emory Knoll Farms was featured as an EcoBiz to watch on the Sundance Channel.
