I had some fun recently selecting glazes for pots for succulents. The pots are by Mark Rafter ([email protected]); I chose the plants and potted them up. What do you think?

You did a great job selecting the glazes to match the Cacti or Succulent Debra. I like the way the art in the pots (great stuff Mark!) maintains a natural terrestrial look and add to;… not compete with the plant subject.

I have your book and use it for my container gardening classes I do each year. It brings many oohs and ahs. Love the combinations. Where can you purchase his pots?

Great article on succulent containers. Does Mark have a website?
fabulous. Love how plants and containers sing together. Both shine. Deborah, to affirm see a similar symphony on my current blog on Orchid Ladies. Best to you and yours during this season’s celebrations. Peggy
Mark’s pots are simply perfect for your succulent designs Debra. The glazes and succulent colors definitely work in harmony. Lucky you to know such a talented artist.

Smashing, absolutely smashing (maybe not the word to use when talking about pots)!
Where did you get the plants?

I think they are very sweet. I am starting to see how you use the pots to accent the succulents. I never gave it much thought until I started learning more about succulents.
How you make a simple succulent look so elegant, is so creative on your part.
I appreciate all the photos and posts that you take time to do. I have enjoyed learning about my new found passion!!

You know how to choose a pot for your succulents very well.
Harmony between pot and plant
resulting in a beautiful piece of living art.
So well done!

Since the beauty of these plants (of all plants, in fact) make them living sculptures you do well choosing beautiful shaped pots. Just do not forget the shape of a plant is a dynamical living one, not just a sad silent stoned statue. We must remember, though they are so decorative, they are alive, not a mere painting -chef d´oeuvre or not- in our personal museum.
Yes, beauty fits to beauty.
PS: I sent to you this same comment in this same blog some dozen hours ago with a link to a computer made drawing of a fractal flower designed with a fractal program by me. I do suppose it has been sent automatically to the spam carpet because of the (clean, not spam; (a JPG image)) link.
Hi, everyone — Thanks so much for the accolades. Inquiries about Mark’s pots should be made to him directly at [email protected]. The plants are from Oasis Water Efficient Gardens nursery in Escondido, CA. Their mail-order division is http://www.GardenLife.com. — Debra

Love your pictures! I have three of your books and have read them front to back. I have also filled my house, yard, fence and hanging baskets with wonderful water efficient plants. I feel light I am painting a canvas with plants! I will have to post some pic’s soon. Thanks for all your shared wisdom!
