And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

Dear Fran,
It’s the first day of the New Year 2013, and in my search on the web for gardening blogs in anticipation of spring, I stumbled upon yours–what a treasure! I enjoy all of the gardening/nature quotes and will use many of them in my own scrapbooking. In particular, I love the Kilmer poem about trees which I have hanging in my home as (illustrated and framed) as an heirloom treasure from my own grandmother. I also love the photos which remind me of my own gardens. Keep up the lovely work!

Fran Sorin January 2, 2013, 6:19 am

Susan-
Thanks for your kind words.

I’m happy that the quotes touched something in you. Ahhh…the Kilmer poem….what a beauty. How lovely that your grandmother passed it onto you illustrated and that you have it hanging in your home. She must have been a special woman. Warmly, Fran
